Lee’s Insight to Fishing Creeks

Insight to Fishing Creeks are strategies I use to fish creeks.

Insight to Fishing Creeks are strategies I use to fish creeks. You can use these insights to even fish the main river on any body of water. Divide the creek into different sections. When you arrive at the water run your boat up the creek taking notice to visible structure and bank changes. Bank changes can be extremely revealing if you pay attention. Many times the bank will give you an idea as to the composition of the creek. The bank can let you know if that area of the creek is rocky or maybe muddy. Many times, you will be able to see if there is a deeper area or deep channel bend, offering more Insight to Fishing Creeks.

More than one area in a creek will hold bass

After you have run the creek it’s time to fish each section. Do this rather quickly (we call this power fishing), or until you find fish. Once you find fish continue to “power fish” to see if there are bass that might be holding in a different type of cover. Sometimes there is more than one area in a creek that will hold bass. If you decide to fish your way in or out of a creek it may take you hours to locate fish, especially if the bass are at the far end from your starting point. This is part of gaining Insight to Fishing Creeks.

Insight to Fishing Creeks are strategies I use to fish creeks.

Using this “breaking down” process allows you to rapidly evaluate the creek without having to fish each and every foot of it. I’ll usually begin my search in each section of these creeks where I encounter marshes, cuts, drainage’s, or small coves. Then I’ll fish my way back out of the creek until I find the first area of deeper water. This is going to be the central location for the bass in this area. From here, they will move up onto the shallow flats to feed and back to the comfort of the deeper structure to rest… This gives further Insight to Fishing Creeks.
